Anna McClellan Announces New EP South Of Dodge

Anna McClellan is back with news of a new EP. The Omaha-born, New York-based DIY lifer dropped Space, you big cloud on Father/Daughter earlier this year, and she's been busy ever since. She sang backup across Greg Freeman's new record All Set The Bone, lending that warm, slightly cracked voice to another artist's corner.

Now she's going solo again. Next month McClellan releases South Of Dodge, her first for Exploding In Sound, a perfect home for her restless piano-driven ramshackle pop. The title nods to the street that splits Omaha in half, a hometown pull that's always run through her work, back to the aching gems on 2018's Yes And No.

Lead track "Drank Earlier" is a belter. It's loose and lived-in, the kind of thing she makes sound easy even when it's clearly not.

McClellan has spent years building this world one honest track at a time. Everything here feels like momentum. South Of Dodge might be her best moment yet.
