Phoebe Bridgers is tearing through an arena tour, and the reviews are glowing. Here's the catch: she banned phones from those rooms. So unless you're there in person, you're stuck piecing together the night from secondhand accounts. We know she reunited with her boygenius bandmates Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus at a recent Brooklyn show. We just don't get to watch it.
Until now. A24 dropped a stunner of a live video in their Sound Check At Cherry Lane Theatre series, directed by Lance Oppenheim, with all three sharing the stage again. The trio that gave us the self-titled EP back in 2018 and then "Not Strong Enough" on the record, back together and stripped down.
An acoustic moment like this hits different after the arena noise. No crowd phones lifting the song into the rafters, just three voices and the harmonies that made boygenius a thing in the first place.
Watch it while it's fresh. This one's a gem.
