Cracked Lime have arrived, and the London duo just dropped their debut single "The Idiot." It's the kind of track built for shorter days and longer nights. A slinking, cinematic gem that makes the dark feel like something worth chasing.
Picture the neon dread of The Fifth Element scored for city sidewalks after dusk. That's the mood here. "The Idiot" moves with a cool, unhurried menace, all shadow and swagger, and it lands like a sleeper you'll want on repeat once the temperature drops.
There's no back catalog to lean on yet, and that's part of the thrill. This is a first statement, a calling card, and it hits with more confidence than most bands manage three records in. If this is where Cracked Lime start, the road ahead looks stacked.
Winter soundtracks need anthems for the sullen hours. This is one.
Keep an eye on these two. "The Idiot" is a killer opening move, and it feels like the beginning of something real.
