Cult Crime are back with a new album, and they're moving fast. The Toronto crew have come a long way since that 2023 demo, which started life as a solo project for Psychic Void's Matthew Menard. Now it's a full four-piece, pulling in players from Chain Whip, Imploders, and the Vapids. Last year's self-titled debut was a killer: snotty, trashy, drenched in that '70s and '80s punk grime that makes you want to kick over a trash can. A real gem for the leather jacket crowd.
Now comes the follow-up, Fully Automatic, and they've dropped two tracks to set the table. Expect more of that snarling, fast, no-nonsense energy that made the debut such a ripper. These guys aren't overthinking it. They write anthems for the basement and the back alley, and they play them loud.
The momentum here is real, and the turnaround is quick. Cult Crime know exactly what they are. Crank it.
