Danz CM is back with a new album, and the title alone is a stunner: The Interdimensional Extraterrestrial Time Travelers Society. Danielle Johnson opened the year with MYTHS, that gorgeous ambient set she tracked live at the Vintage Synthesizer Museum on a rack of old machines. Last month she dropped two tracks that hinted a fresh Danz CM chapter was coming. Now it's official.
This is the same artist Stereogum tagged as an Artist To Watch way back in 2010, and she has kept building ever since, from the shimmering synth-pop of 2018's The Absurdity Of Human Existence to those ambient experiments earlier this year. The new era leans cosmic, and the two preview tracks show a writer still chasing melody through all the machinery.
