Ganser are back today with "Futuretripping," a new single that lands ahead of tour dates with Bikini Kill. Alicia Gaines and Brian Cundiff know how to build tension, and this track proves it again.
The arrangement is a stunner. It's littered with flickers of sound, little sparks that keep pulling your ear in different directions, but the real engine here is that bass work from Gaines. Irresistible stuff. The video, also directed by Gaines, leans into Mad Men-era cool, sharp and stylish without ever showing off.
Then there are the lyrics. Quotable line after quotable line, but Gaines never gets flashy about it, and that restraint is exactly what made 2020's Just Look At That Sky such a gem.
Sharing stages with Bikini Kill feels like the right moment for a band this loud and this smart. Ganser have always understood that noise can be precise.
