Ghostemane is back, and he's got a new album locked for Halloween season. The West Palm Beach weirdo made his name in the great SoundCloud-rap wave of the 2010s, blending underground rap and its '90s Memphis roots with metal, hardcore, goth, and industrial. It was messy and fascinating. He had a strange, prolific run.
Then he vanished after 2020's Anti-Icon, his most recent LP and a genuine mood piece. Five years is a long stretch. Now the new record, AM:FM, breaks that silence, and the lead track "BucketList" is here to prove the fire never went out.
If you remember the sludgy dread of "Mercury" or the sheer aggression scattered across Anti-Icon, you know the range this guy carries. He's never fit one box. That's the whole point.
AM:FM lands as a stunner of a comeback for anyone who missed his chaos. The timing is perfect. Halloween belongs to Ghostemane, and "BucketList" is the moment that reminds you why.
