Julia Jacklin – “If I Had The Hand Of God”

Julia Jacklin just dropped a video for her new track "If I Had The Hand Of God," and she shot the whole thing in Las Vegas. Nothing about Jacklin screams Sin City. That's exactly why it works.

Regular collaborator Nick Mckk followed her wandering the strip: the Sphere, the Caesar's Palace ceiling, those windswept desert hills, the anonymous hotel hallways. Sometimes she's rocking a showgirl headdress. It's a stunner, and it pairs beautifully with the track.

This is the same songwriter who broke hearts wide open on 2019's Crushing, then went even deeper with Pre Pleasure and cuts like "Lydia Wears A Cross." She's always found the ache in ordinary moments. Now she's setting that ache against neon and slot machines, and the contrast lands like a gut punch.

The track itself is a slow-burn belter, patient and huge, the kind of gem that reveals more on every listen.

Jacklin keeps proving she can make anywhere feel like home turf. Vegas never stood a chance.
