Kalia Vandever is teaming up with Darkside's Dave Harrington for a new joint LP. It's called Evergreen, and it lands this fall.
The timing is a gem. Vandever dropped their solo album Mana back in June, a record that let their trombone breathe and roam in ways their earlier work only hinted at. Fans who sat with 2022's Regrowth know how this player bends a single note into something vast. Harrington, meanwhile, brings the textural drift that made Darkside's Psychic such a sleeper classic.
Together they're chasing something looser. Lead track "The Chase" pairs Vandever's horn with Harrington's electronics, and the two voices circle each other like old friends. It's patient. It builds. By the end you're somewhere new.
This is a collaboration that reads like craft, two restless players meeting in the middle and finding a shared language. Evergreen could be the moment both catalogs point toward.
Press play on "The Chase" and let it pull you under.
