L7 are hitting the road again, and they've got Janis Tanaka stepping in on bass. She replaces the late Jennifer Finch for the aptly named Last Hurrah Tour, a run that feels heavy and triumphant all at once. Finch was the low-end backbone of so many L7 moments, from the sludgy roar of "Pretend We're Dead" to the whole snarling glory of 1992's Bricks Are Heavy.
Tanaka is no stranger to this world. She's done time with Pink and Fireball Ministry, and she knows how to drive a riff into the ground where it belongs. That matters when you're carrying the torch for feminist grunge royalty.
L7 have always been louder, sharper, and more fearless than their peers, and this tour reads like a proper send-off on their own terms. Expect the belters: "Shitlist," "Andres," the deep cuts that built the legend.
This is a band refusing to fade out. Go see them while you can.
