Living Hour are back with a new EP. The dreamy Winnipeg crew are following last year's stunning Internal Drone Infinity with Magnet, a four-track set landing three weeks from today. Two brand new cuts, plus two demos pulled from that record. It's a smart little package.
The title track leads things off, and it's a gorgeous shift in gears. Where the band have leaned into heavier textures before, this one drifts wide and open. Think Cassandra Jenkins, Julia Holter, Emily A. Sprague: mood, space, shapeless beauty. It's a slow-burn gem.
That closing lyric is a moment: "I wanna sleep at the edge of the text on the screen." It lodges itself in your head and stays there.
Living Hour have always known how to make patience feel like reward, and Magnet sounds like another step in that direction. The demos are a nice window into their process too. Three weeks out and already we're hooked.
Some bands sprint. Living Hour float, and it suits them.
