Lydia Loveless is back with a new EP called Accolades, out next month. The Columbus country-rocker has been busy since 2023's Nothing's Gonna Stand In My Way Again, and this one has a fun little backstory. Last year Loveless dropped a run of one-off writing-challenge tracks on Bandcamp. One of them was a stunner called "Accolades." Then most of those tracks vanished, "Accolades" included.
Now that gem gets a second life. The lead single is a brand-new version of the title track, reworked and ready for a proper release. Anyone who's followed Loveless since Boy Crazy or the raw punch of Somewhere Else knows they've always turned messy feelings into something sharp and singable.
The writing-challenge origin makes this feel loose and alive, like catching a great band mid-thought. A killer B-side turned proper single. That's the kind of move that keeps a catalog interesting.
Accolades lands next month. Go hear the new version now.
