Kevin Basko just dropped a surprise album. It's called Bloodwork, and it lands under his Rubber Band Gun banner, the project that's been hiding in plain sight all year. Basko runs the Philly home studio at the heart of Historic New Jersey, the collective behind some of 2024's loveliest gems.
You've heard his fingerprints already. He was all over Emily Moales' Star Moles stunner Highway To Hell back in February, and he helped shape the Sullivan siblings' charming Love & Devotion this summer. Now the guy behind the boards steps out front.
The retro-tinted pop-rock sound is here in full: scrappy but finely crafted, familiar yet beamed in from some parallel timeline. Sam and Louise Sullivan turn up as guests, and Star Moles factors in too, so this feels like the whole crew converging on one release.
No warning, no rollout, just a full album out of nowhere. Basko has been the connective tissue all along. This is his moment, and it's a killer.
