serpentwithfeet Announces New EP Sentinel

serpentwithfeet is back with a new EP called Sentinel. The Baltimore-born, New York-based artist has spent his whole career mining R&B tradition through the lens of queer desire, and it's been a stunner to watch unfold. Remember soil back in 2018? That debut felt like a whole new language. He's kept building since, most recently on 2024's Grip and its 2025 companion piece Grip Sequel.

Now comes the title track. Co-produced with Brandon Juhan and Rahm, "Sentinel" pulls serpentwithfeet back toward his gospel roots. Lost, pleading vocals ride over murky, IDM-adjacent programming, and the result is a gem: intimate one second, alien the next.

It's the kind of moment that reminds you how fearless this guy is. He never repeats himself. Every era feels like a deliberate step somewhere new, and Sentinel sounds like another one.

Few artists blend the sacred and the sensual like this. serpentwithfeet does it like it's the most natural thing in the world. Don't sleep on this one.
