Something In The Way just dropped its 2027 lineup, and it's a stunner. Run For Cover Records has been building this Boston festival into something special, and next year they've outdone themselves. The Jesus And Mary Chain and Trapped Under Ice on the same bill? That rules.
Think about that clash. JAMC have been peddling gorgeous noise since Psychocandy in 1985, all "Just Like Honey" fuzz and feedback. TUI bring the hardcore fury. Somehow it all fits.
This year's edition leaned on Sunny Day Real Estate and Explosions In The Sky, proof the festival keeps different strains of guitar music under one roof. Next year adds Turnover, whose "Cutting My Fingers Off" still hits, plus Wednesday, riding the momentum of Rat Saw God.
The genre spread is the whole point here. Shoegaze legends, hardcore heavies, dream-pop up-and-comers, all sharing space in Boston.
Something In The Way keeps growing, and this lineup is the biggest swing yet. Boston, get ready. This one's a killer.
