Soup Activists Announce New Album Where The Rubbish Goes

Martin Meyer is back, and the St. Louis lifer has a new Soup Activists album on the way. Longtime heads know the path here: Meyer used to front the punk outfit Lumpy And The Dumpers and ran Lumpy Records, carving out a scrappy corner of the underground. Since 2020, he's been working solo as Soup Activists, spinning playful lo-fi power-pop gems that feel homemade in the best way.

The project has racked up a handful of EPs and one full-length so far, 2024's charming Mummy What Are Flowers For? Now comes the follow-up: Where The Rubbish Goes, dropping next month. The lead track "Johnny" is a scrappy little belter, all crooked melody and warm tape hiss.

That one-man setup is the whole charm. There's no band, just Meyer and his instincts, and the songs land sharper for it. If you slept on Mummy, consider this your second chance.

Soup Activists keep finding new ways to turn bedroom pop into a moment. Don't miss this one.
