Sports Team are back with "Billy," and they waste zero time. The track kicks off with a shout: "Fuck you, Billy! Where is this going?" It's chaos, and it's perfect. Dad's in the bar calling for shots, bathroom lights whiter than heaven, some sister's boyfriend eyeing things up. Classic Sports Team, really.
These guys have always known how to write a scene. Go back to "Kutcher" or the whole of 2020's Deep Down Happy, and you'll hear it: sharp characters, big hooks, that knowing British sneer. "Billy" carries the same DNA, but it feels tighter, more confident.
That's the trick with this band. They grab your attention right at the top, then they reward it. The opening line is bait, sure, but what follows is a genuine belter that earns every shouted word.
Sports Team keep sharpening their craft, and the momentum feels real right now. "Billy" is a ripper. Turn it up loud.
