Sylvan Esso are back on Spotify. About a year ago, the North Carolina electro-folk duo pulled their whole catalog off the platform, protesting founder Daniel Ek's investment in military defense contractor Helsing. "We simply can't continue to put our life's work in a store that directly funds war machines," they wrote at the time. It was a righteous stand.
Now it's September 2026, and things have shifted. Last Friday they dropped their excellent new album Ow ∞, the first release through their own label Psychic Hotline. And with it, the full catalog returned to Spotify.
That means "Coffee" is streaming again, that means the whole 2017 What Now era is back within reach, that means every gem Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn have built since their self-titled debut lives in one place. The new record is a stunner. The choice to come back was theirs, made on their own terms, through their own label.
Sometimes momentum means owning the whole thing yourself.
