Tami Hart is back with her first solo album in 24 years. That's a long wait, and the payoff feels earned.
Rewind to 2000: Hart was just 19 when No Light In August landed on Mr. Lady Records, a stunner of intimate folk-punk that made her a name in the queer and feminist underground. She toured with Sleater-Kinney and Indigo Girls, then hit harder on 2002's What Passed Between Us. After that she poured herself into Making Friendz and MEN, but the solo itch never left. The Thanks For Saying Hi EP in 2023 was the signal.
Now she's going full-length again. Two decades of collaboration, band work, and life have shaped whatever this record becomes, and that history is the whole point. Hart has always written from a real place, from those early bedroom belters to the bigger swings.
