The Raconteurs are back, and they're celebrating two decades of their debut. Third Man Records just announced Broken Boy Soldiers XX as its newest Vault Package for subscribers. It's a 20th anniversary companion to the 2006 record that gave us "Steady, As She Goes," the track that turned Jack White and Brendan Benson's side project into something way bigger than a side project.
The package is loaded. You get previously unreleased demos, outtakes, and the band's first-ever concert captured for the first time. For anyone who wore out "Level" and "Together" back in the day, this is a gem.
The timing lines up with the reunion too. The four-piece shared a stage at Jack White's recent Nashville show, their first moment together in years. That alone is worth the hype.
Broken Boy Soldiers always felt like a snapshot of four players chasing the same ragged energy. Hearing the demos should make that era feel brand new again. Subscribers, this one's a killer.
