They walked us through it track by track, and the result is one of the most generous breakdowns we've read all year. The new record is called Autosmile, and it finds them digging into the same restless energy that made their early stuff hit so hard. Every track gets a story here. Some of these started as voice memos, some grew out of soundcheck jams, and a few go all the way back to the sessions that never made the last album.
The through line is craft. You can hear them chasing a bigger sound this time, stretching out where they used to keep things tight. It's a stunner front to back, full of little moments that reward a second listen.
Longtime fans will catch the callbacks woven through the lyrics, the kind of details that make a record feel lived in. This is a band that knows exactly who they are. Autosmile is the sound of them pushing forward anyway. Read the full breakdown and let it pull you in.
