Working Men's Club are back, and they brought a heavyweight collaborator. The Manchester dance-rock crew just dropped "Devout," a new single produced by Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails and film-score fame. That name alone tells you the ambition here.
It's been a minute. Their last album, 2022's Fear Fear, sharpened the synth-punk edges they first flashed on their self-titled 2020 debut, where "Valleys" and "John Cooper Clarke" announced them as one of the most electric new acts around. In between, frontman Sydney Minsky-Sargeant went solo, leaning acoustic and softer, and that detour paid off too.
Now the full band is charging again, and pairing Minsky-Sargeant's restless energy with Ross behind the boards feels like a real moment. Expect the pulsing rhythms and cold-wave menace that made them a live force, pushed somewhere darker and bigger.
"Devout" is a signal: Working Men's Club are not done evolving. This one moves. Turn it up loud.
