Jolly olly – Peggy's song (If heaven had a dj)
Jolly olly's 'Peggy's Song (If Heaven Had a DJ)' is a proper oldskool house tribute from the Black Country, dancefloor-ready and deeply heartfelt.
Jolly olly opens with that piano sample and you know exactly where you are. 'Peggy's Song (If Heaven Had a DJ)' lands somewhere between 90s rave nostalgia and contemporary club production, the oldskool keys sitting warm against a modern four-to-the-floor pulse. The track builds with an incredible purpose, letting the vocal hook carry the weight. There's grief in here, sure, but it's the kind that dances. And that piano? Doing the heavy lifting, threading memory through every bar. Great vocal house, uplifting and warm.
Jolly olly hails from Rowley Regis in England's Black Country, a DJ since twelve and on the mobile circuit by fourteen. He stepped back to focus on family, but the love never left. Now he's channelling that experience into production, bringing proper oldskool flavour through sampling and bootleg sensibilities. 'Peggy's Song' is a tribute to a friend who passed, a barmaid who heard and loved the rough cut before she died. A real one this, we love it.
