ändy j – Time Bomb
ändy j's 'Time Bomb' is a brilliant slice of electro-house from Seville, decades of craft pressed into every sequenced pulse
'Time Bomb' opens with that unmistakable 808 thump and a bassline that knows exactly where it's going. ändy j builds the track like someone who learned synthesis when it still felt dangerous, layering analogue textures over a propulsive house rhythm that never lets up. The vocal sits right in here in style, with a kind of housey Gorrilaz. vibe. There's a tension here that earns the title, something coiled and ready. And the production? Tight, punchy, the work of someone who's spent real time with these machines. Brilliant electro-house, vintage and completely alive.
ändy j is the solo project of Andrew Jarman, a musician whose first electronic single dropped in 1980. His early duo A Popular History of Signs found an unlikely following in Spain after 'Stigma' became a club hit in 1984, and he's called Seville home since 1991. After years in indie rock and a long stretch away from music, a support slot this year got him back behind the Roland gear. 'Time Bomb' was co-produced with Canino. A proper banger, more please.
