The title lies, and that's entirely the point. 'This Perfect Summer' opens with mercury rising and fire outside, then catalogues collapse: dead birds falling, crops failing, roads shimmering into nowhere, smoke darkening the daylight. Jamie Telford delivers these images with wistful detachment, his vocal sitting somewhere between resignation and quiet alarm. The treble recorder threads through like something half-remembered from a childhood holiday, while Sean Read's saxes add unexpected warmth beneath the unease. Ali Friend's stand-up bass grounds the whole thing, acoustic and present, as the arrangement builds density without ever losing its groove. And that hook? It's a banger. Brilliant indie rock, unsettling and beautifully crafted.
My Glass World are a British duo built around Jamie Telford and Sean Read, back with us again after 'River Of Light' a few months back. This one lands as track seven on forthcoming album 'Extraordinary Renditions', out 18 September via Luxury Noise Records. It's their eighth record, and the fifth full-length collaboration between the pair, recorded across sessions split between Scotland and Hackney's Famous Times. We love this; a band doing their own thing for years who keep getting sharper.
Rosso Tierney – FEEL

Rosso Tierney wants you to feel something, and he's brought the guitars to make sure you do. 'Feel' is built on that unmistakable 90s alternative rock foundation, thick distorted riffs Billy Corgan would recognise as family. The track digs into how two people live through the same moment and come away with different versions of it, that disconnect where you're standing next to someone and somehow miles apart. It's a brilliantly produced rock banger, and I love the real momentum here, building and not letting go. And the hook? It really lands. Brilliant alternative rock, melodic and full of conviction.
Rosso Tierney is a York-based solo artist who last appeared here with 'Oh Divine' five months back. He's a multi-instrumentalist shaped by Bowie, The Struts, and years playing punk across the UK and Europe. Producer Sam Graves, who co-produced The Black for Asking Alexandria, is behind the desk. This one comes with a cinematic video filmed on a WWII airfield featuring a 1970s Oldsmobile Delta 88. More of this please, Rosso. A banger.
Chet Nordy – For You

Chet Nordy wrote this one for his wedding fifteen years ago. Back then it was acoustic, a marital promise. Now it's a full-band rock statement that earns its emotional weight through sheer conviction. The guitar licks hook you immediately, bright and melodic, and that epic chorus lands exactly where it should. I'm singing along by the second time it comes around, and it's definitely loud enough to sing along to, warm enough to mean it. There's real dynamic range here, building from verse to chorus with purpose, then pulling back for an acoustic outro that brings the whole thing home. And that hook? It stays with you. Gorgeous rock songwriting, catchy and very much earned.

He writes, composes, and records everything there, and for this single he brought in vocalist Josh Paulino, whose voice lifts the whole production.
