ERICKOSCAR – Mi Gente y mi Tierra Panamá
ERICKOSCAR's 'Mi Gente y mi Tierra Panamá' is a heartfelt Latin pop love letter to homeland, warm and joyful and impossible not to move to.
ERICKOSCAR opens with a declaration of love that's been 35 years in the making. 'Mi Gente y mi Tierra Panamá' is built on bright, commercial pop instrumentation with a Latin pulse running through its centre, a track that makes you want to dance and cry at the same time. The vocal carries real weight, switching between tender recollection and full-throated celebration. There's childhood here, specific memories of place and people, and that specificity is what makes it land. It's a latin pop banger, and filled with sunshine. Joyful Latin pop, warm and deeply personal.
ERICKOSCAR is based in Cave Springs, but his roots are planted firmly in Panama, where he was born before moving stateside 35 years ago. Back with us after 'Till We Turn Grey' last week, he's a self-taught producer with over three decades playing acoustic guitar in his church band, and more than 1,200 songs written. The single dropped last month. A real gem.
