ERICKOSCAR – Still Fighting
ERICKOSCAR's 'Still Fighting' is a tender gospel-pop anthem from Arkansas, faith held close and a vocal that pulls you in and doesn't let go
This one opens softly, keys and voice sitting close together before the arrangement lifts. 'Still Fighting' is a song written for someone in the middle of something hard, and you can hear that in every line. The vocal carries the real weight, with just the right amount of restraint, and the production keeps space around it, letting the lyric do its work. There's warmth running through the whole thing, gospel roots showing in the melodic shape and how the song builds toward its chorus. The hook lands beautifully, and I love the line 'maybe i dont have to win the whole war today'. Heartfelt Christian pop, sincere and fully realised.
ERICKOSCAR is back with us again after 'Till We Turn Grey' only last week. Based in Cave Springs, Arkansas, he's been playing acoustic guitar with his worship band for over 35 years. Recently he's been teaching himself production software, and this single is proof that this learning's paying off. The track was written for a close friend battling cancer, and that care shows in every note. A beautiful moment this week.
