Janeff the Poet is the artistic name of Jeff D. Dillard, a Chicago-based attorney, educator, producer and spoken-word artist whose work explores love, liberation, justice, faith, identity and the Black experience. For more than three decades he’s balanced careers in law, higher education and creative production, using each to educate, advocate and inspire. His mission is music and poetry that challenges the mind, moves the heart and sparks conversations that carry beyond the stage, and “Lobster” is a compelling example. A distinctive, purposeful voice.
