Chroma Noir – Endless Highway
Chrome Noir serve up a stunning 80s-action-movie night-drive banger
Buckle up for a midnight sprint down the coast. “Endless Highway” trades ritual for pure forward motion, a night-drive song with full 80s action-movie energy. Its darkwave heart lit up by guitars from Chilean metal guitarist Gabriel Hidalgo and a shred solo that cuts clean across the darkest voice in synth-pop. It’s cinematic and driving, all neon glow and propulsive rhythm, sitting comfortably in the lineage of Depeche Mode and New Order while keeping a contemporary edge. I absolutely love the mood in this, it’s all sleek, atmospheric and thrilling. A proper adrenaline rush.
Chroma Noir are a Santiago duo formed in late 2024, vocalist Mauricio Solari and multi-instrumentalist Mario Castro, blending atmosphere, intensity and melody rooted in electronica and synth-pop with post-punk and goth influences. Citing Depeche Mode, Bauhaus, The Sisters of Mercy and Peter Murphy, they pair Solari’s expressive vocals with Castro’s cinematic synth work to build what they call noir-tinged textures with driving rhythms. Since their September 2025 debut they’ve released a steady run of singles, and “Endless Highway” continues an artistic vision that balances nostalgia with forward momentum. Warm, nostalgic and quietly devoted, “When I’m Not Home” is a superb slice of heartfelt soft rock from Danny Lee, a love song built on distance and devotion.
Some love songs are grand gestures, this one is a late-night phone call. “When I’m Not Home” rides a simple two-chord foundation that lets the melody and Danny Lee’s honest vocal do the talking, drawing musically on Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams”. It tells the story of devoted couples keeping love alive across distance, those tired calls after a hard day and the cherished morning coffee reunions, a narrative he lived firsthand working away from home.
